It has been drama, excitement, and ecstasy at the 2025 Aspire Juvenile Laague in Akure.

There have been 5 rounds of matches, 19 games played. At this stage, teams have set the pace for the title race, teams lagging in the relegation battle, players already going toe to toe in the battle for golden boot, teams also picking up the pace.

In this post, we will take a look at major stats and what we need to know.

An Overview

There have been 19 games played. 47 goals scored. An average of 2.4 goals per game. There have been 7 draws and 12 wins. Talking about wins, there have been only 4 home wins and 8 away wins. No home advantage.
Tubaba FA has scored the most goals (15)
Arsenal Kidz has conceded the fewer goals (3)
Healthy Starlight has the most clean sheet (3)

Title Race

Tubaba FA leads the pack at the top with 12 points from possible 15 points. They have played 5 games, scored 15 goals, and an average of 3 goals per game. Impressive.

Young Stars SC trailing them at second with 8 points having one game in hand.
Tubaba FA won’t be playing this weekend as Young Stars SC has the opportunity to reduce the gap to one point as they host Arsenal Kidz on Saturday on their home ground.

Relegation Battle

Arsenal Kidz sits rock bottom at 9th with just 2 points having recorded 0 win in 3 games. Though they are not far off from safety, just one point below PCCG with 3 points at 8th position.

It’s still a long season with the likes Trivas and FA Brave Eagles can still be dragged down if they don’t start picking up points.

Mid-table Teams

Mateco FA remains the only team with Young Stars SC yet to lose a game with one win and 4 draws in 5 games. They sit 3rd on the log with 7 points. Adeleke FA at 4th, they have accumulated 6 points so far, as Healthy Starlight wrap up the top 6 at 6th with 5 points.

These are teams to look out for as they could join the title race if they can muster up a bit of consistency.

The Defence Gurus

So far, Healthy Starlight has kept the most clean sheet (3) with their goalkeeper, Aina Oluwaseun, being crucial. They have also conceded the second few goals (4) with Arsenal Kidz conceded lesser (3) having played one game less. Though, their defence strength hasn’t reflected positively on the table.

In contrast, Tubaba FA and Trivas FC have let 7 goals in this season. Only FA Brave Eagles are yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

Race for Golden Boot

Shehu Rasheed of Tubaba FA has been one of the starmen this season, with 9 goals in just 5 games. He has scored in all games he has played in this season.

Onu Ifeanyi of Adeleke FA is second on the too scorer log with 4 goals. He was on a run of 4 games, finding the back of the net. Trivas stopped that run at the opening match of Gameweek 5.

The Playmakers

Christain Chuwuameze (Tubaba FA) leads the asssit chart with 4 assists. He’s followed by Orji Chukwudi (Young Stars SC) with 3 assists.

The Derbies

What’s a league without the derbies? We need the drama. All the 3 derbies that have been played so far have been nothing short of entertaining.

The season served us the Alagbaka Derby at the opening weekend between Healthy Starlight and Trivas FC at St. Mathais Park. Trivas FC edged Healthy Starlight 1-0 to paint Alagbaka blue.

We had to wait 3 weeks to get another Derby, and it came with a bonus. Two derbies in gameweek 4.

The Oke-Paadi derby at St. Martins between Young Stars SC and Adeleke FA, which ended in a 1-1 draw. It was a day never to forget, fans turned up in fine voice, there were dramas, over 10 bookings, a late goal, it really delivered.

The Igoba Derby followed that weekend at Igoba High School as Mateco FA knicked a 2-1 win against FA Brave Eagles to paint Igoba black.

Now, we will have to wait until the second leg for another series of derbies.

Notable Moments

The biggest victory of the season is the Tubaba thrashing of Trivas FC 6-1. Which is also the highest scoring game. Shehu Rasheed scored the first hatrick of the season. He ended up netting 4 goals in that game.

The game of the season has to be when Young Stars SC pulled an incredible comeback against Tubaba FA in gameweek 2. They came from 2 goals down to beat Tubaba FA 3-2.

The first penalty saved is another notable moment. PCCG Goalkeeper, Obayanju Elijah, stepped up and saved a penalty late in the game to earn his side all 3 points with a 1-0 win against Trivas FC at Lizzyland, Oke-Aro.

There are 4 rounds of games to be played to reach halfway of the season. Let’s keep our fingers crossed to see how the drama unfolds.
